Amsterdam needn't be all hustle and bustle. The yoga centres of Amsterdam are perfect places to relax and load up. This Amsterdam yoga guide lists some of the best yoga centers in the city.
t doesn't matter whether you are already an expert or don't know your asana from your elbow. Whatever your level, the many available yoga classes ensure there's something for everybody. Alternative esoteric-religious-therapeutic stuff is pretty hot in Amsterdam, so don't be afraid to step in.
Several yoga centres have free trial classes. Most offer drop-in classes for 10 to 16, and most offer a discount of you pay for several classes at one moment.
Do not eat before a yoga class, but don't forget something to drink - it's important to stay well hydrated. Wear clothing in which you can move easily. Sometimes you need to bring your own mat.
The Amsterdam Yoga Centre
There are three daily Asana classes, focussing on the body postures. The Pranayama classes focus on breathing exercises. Trail classes are available to everyone, without a reservation.
The teacher will always make a distinction between beginners and advanced students so there is no need to worry about going beyond your own limits.

Classes are in Dutch and English. Trial classes are available against payment. Drop-in classes are possible, too.

This institute offers more than 35 classes a week which are open - no need to book - plus a teacher- training course. There are three yoga studios. Mats and all other materials are supplied.
Aurora Centre for Natural Medicine and Personal Growth
This center is located along a pretty tree-lined canal and has a calming atmosphere. You wouldn't know you were in the centre of a city.
